Taiwan Irwin mangoes are grown in Pingtung County’s Fangshan Township, Tainan City’s Yujing District and other places. Because of the sandy hillside terrain with good drainage and suitable weather, they are the main cultivation areas of Taiwan Irwin mangoes. The high temperature and sunshine in southern Taiwan coupled with the warm and humid sea breeze in the south will increase the sweetness of Taiwan Irwin mangoes. Yujing District is the earliest area in Taiwan to grow Irwin mangoes, so it is known as the hometown of Taiwan Irwin mangoes. In Pingtung’s Fangshan, due to the warm climate, mango trees bloom earlier, and the mango production season is earlier. The harvest period starts from the end of April to the beginning of July every year, and the peak season is from May to June. Mangoes in the Yujing District are harvested after Fangshan. Taiwan Irwin mango is round in shape, bright in color, with red skin and yellow flesh, thin skin and tender flesh. It is juicy, smells fragrant and tastes sweet with sour sense.
